First day - arriving

Today, we arrived in the family, and we met everybody. Rebecca, is the mother of Lucy, who is 15, Joshua, 12, Max, 13 and Poppy, she is 10. Jonny is the father but he isn't at home, because he works in England. We introduced ourselves, and we helped to prepare the meal, it was lasagna. After, we ate with the family, and we spoke about ourselves, our family etc. After dinner, we played cards, and a little bit of sport with Josh and Poppy. She's a future trainer ! After this little performance, we took a shower and went to bed. It was a very good first day !

Second day

Today, we went running with Rebecca, on a very pretty little road through the woods. We ran five kilometers. The day before, it was raining so the road was a little bit muddy ! After our little run, we went back home, took a shower and Rebecca taught English to her client (she is an English teacher). We had lunch, we ate scrambled eggs. In the afternoon, we walked in the pretty town or St Cirq-Lapopie. It's a little town but it's very nice, we saw the little church and some old houses. From St Cirq-Lapopie, we drove to Cahors, where we waited for Poppy, Josh and Max in front of their school. When they arrived, we we went back home, and helped them to prepare dinner, and tidy the kitchen. We ate very spicy turkey with vegetables and yoghurts. After dinner, everybody went to bed, because we were so tired !

Third day

Today, we did a huge walk with the dogs in the morning, after a delicious English breakfast, with eggs and bacon. The path was quite pretty, it was climbing a small hill. We saw men who were cutting trees, because those trees were too old and if there was a storm, they may fall down and it could be dangerous. After this walk with Rebecca, we went back home, and we went to the supermarket, where we baught lunch. When we arrived at home, we prepared sandwiches with avocado and cheese inside. In the afternoon, we went to the garden and we picked walnuts from the walnut trees. Rebecca was shaking the branches and we were picking the walnuts which were falling. After that, we cooked a plum tart, we made the pastry and we added plums inside. Like yesterday, we went into Cahors, and collected Poppy, Josh and Max from school. We played memorisation games in the car while we were waiting for Poppy to go to gym, it was very funny. We went back home, and we prepared dinner, it was chickpeas with chorizo and tomato sauce. After dinner, we had a shower, and we talked with Lucy. She's really nice but very busy.

Fourth day

Today, we got up a little bit late because Poppy didn't have school on wednesday. Max was at home too because he was a little bit sick. For breakfast, we ate porridge, I didn't really like that but Anna seemed like it. At 12 o'clock, Rebecca went to collect Josh at school, but Lucy had activities so she didn't came back for lunch. We prepared lunch, sandwiches with chicken, avocado and tomato inside. It was very good. In the afternoon, we dropped Josh at his rowing club, and we walked with Rebecca, Poppy and the dogs Bernard and Nora near Cahors, at Mont St Cyr, which is above Cahors, and we had a beautiful view of the town and the river, the Lot. It was a beautiful climb, the path has been renovated before. Before we went back to the car, we stopped at the tabaconist, and I bought post cards for my grandparents. After, we went back to the car. Rebecca stopped at the supermarket and at the bakery to buy some bread and do shopping. We went back home, and we cooked caramel shortbread and jelly, typically english. After, we ate burgers with homemade chips, and Josh made his special spice mix for the chips. We ate the jelly too, it was blackcurrant one, and it was really good, but the shortbread wasn't ready yet. After dinner, we played cards with Rebecca and Poppy, and I taught Poppy how to make a brasilian bracelet. She is great with her hands, and she learnt very fast. She chose pastel colors, and Anna made one too, with differents shades of green and orange. Mine was with shades of blue and violet.

Fifth day

Today, we got up earlier than yesterday. I ate sliced bread with jam, and Anna ate porridge. We got dressed while Rebecca went running with a friend. When she came back, she had to teach fitness class so we went with her. We met Michel, Dominique, Colette, Christine and other people betwenn 65 and 70 years old. They are all so nice and lovely ! We did fitness together, cardio, stretching and dance. It was a really good experience. They live in a small town and they meet once or twice a week at fitness classes. After, we went back home, we had a shower, and after, we washed the dog. He wasn't really happy to have a bath ! Then we prepared lunch, we cooked vegetables, and we ate the caramel shortbread we had made with Poppy yesterday. It was so delicious, one of the best cakes I've ever eaten. In the afternoon, we went to visit Cahors, it was really interesting. We saw the hanging tower, where people were hung in the Middle Age, and the old city with Roman walls. We went to the cathedral too, which is huge and beautiful with its two domes. Inside, it was silent, and the paintings were great. We visited the cloister too. We stopped in shops because Rebecca is going to a wedding this weekend so she wanted to find a typically French gift. After, we collected Poppy, Lucy and Max from school and we brought Poppy to gym. Then we went back home, and we ate vegetables with the rest of the shortbread, with Lucy and Josh. Max was sick, Poppy was at gym and Rebecca went to collect her. Before dinner, Lucy made some photos of us, because she does a photography class in her school, it was really nice of her.

Sixth day - leaving

Sadly, it's the last day... We finished the week with a fitness class with Rebecca and others very nice people. We did boxing, dance, exercises with ball and elastic and stretching. After, we went back home, we had a shower and we went verify if electricity was okay in the neighbour's home, because somrtimes, Rebecca has to check if everything is okay. For lunch, we cooked Yorshire pudding with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy, it was so delicious ! And after, it was time to say goodbye, and go to the bus. We said "thank you so much" to Rebecca, because we spent a really good week with her and her children.
